David has lived and worked all his life in the West Midlands. From leaving school until retirement in 2007 David worked in the N.H.S. in a range of administrative and managerial positions in general acute hospitals and then specialising in the management and development of mental health services.
After retirement, David worked as an independent advisor for six years and it was during this time that he first had contact with The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and the introduction of the IAPT service.
David is currently chairman of one of the Patient Participation Groups (PPG) within the Dudley C.C.G.
He is chairman of two (separate) registered charities; one is concerned with the relief of poverty and hardship in South India and the other strives to improve life chances and educational opportunities for children in various overseas countries.
In his spare time, David assists at a volunteer-led community support centre, particularly running a furniture scheme; and he also spends time trying to race historic motorcycles.
