The Kaleidoscope Plus Group have started the summer alongside an array of loveable pooches by introducing Doggy Trail for Wellbeing as part of the Wellbeing Plus service.
Doggy Trail for Wellbeing, is based at Walsall Rosedene Rescue Centre, which specialises in finding new homes for rescue dogs, giving them an opportunity at starting a new and happy life.
Doggy Trail allows services users to enjoy the outdoors whilst at the same time giving rescue dogs the fun and companionship they deserve.
The Walsall based group is led by Community Wellbeing Worker, Rebecca Clark, who herself is a pet enthusiast and believes it is one of the most fulfilling activities available as part of the Community Wellbeing service.
She said: “I must admit Doggy Trail for Wellbeing is one of the most enjoyable groups the charity offer as it makes both the dogs and service users happy; boosting service user mood and wellbeing which is one of the fundamental aims of the service we offer.
“As an animal lover myself, it’s so rewarding when you go in one week to walk a particular dog and the next week you come back it will be gone as it has found a good home!”
The Doggy Trail for Wellbeing groups take place every Wednesday from 2:30pm at Walsall Rosedene Rescue Centre, 1 Radley Road, Rushall, Walsall, WS4 1LN.
