Last week, another 11 participants completed Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training (ASIST) at our Head Office, Hawthorns House.
The participants were part of our service user involvement group, People In Mind (PIM) and were able to complete the training due to The Kaleidoscope Plus Group being awarded funding courtesy of the Postcode Community Trust to use for the Staying Safe with PIM Project.
ASIST is a two day suicide first aid interactive workshop that prepares caregivers to provide suicide first aid interventions.
The emphasis is on teaching suicide first-aid to help a person at risk stay safe.
ASIST is approved by the World Health Organisation with over 1 million people worldwide successfully completing the course.
The course was run by The Kaleidoscope Plus Group’s Rachael Thompson and Sue Vincent.
