“Is The Kaleidoscope Plus Group a life saver…

“A long long time ago in a galaxy far far away, I found myself quite poorly in hospital.

“The hospital is a good place and is there to help us get back on our feet.

“After I was poorly I soon realised the friends I thought I had were indeed not friends at all.

“I didn’t know what to do so I decided action was needed.

“I asked to be introduced to The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and find out if there was anything I could do.

“That was a big thing.

“Big thing number 2 was turning up at the Windmill Lane centre and introducing myself to the group.

“I sat down and someone made me a coffee and I was up and running.

“Everyone was so friendly and I felt like I belonged.

“With a bit of help from the staff I soon made friends, some of which I am still friends with today.

“Real friends, not the sort I thought I had previously.

“The workers at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group have been particularly helpful and friendly towards me even if I talk too much or crack too many jokes!

“After leaving hospital it was 6 months before I contacted The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

“It’s something I wish I could have done much earlier.

“Sitting down with friends over a hot drink, talking about what bothers us, is how the healing process begins.

“If someone from the group says I’m having a rough time, most of the people who are there know how that feels without explanation.

“The Kaleidoscope Plus Group works quietly and diligently in the background making thing happen, such as Tea Dances, Discos, days out, pub lunches, so no one is left out.

“Is The Kaleidoscope Plus Group a life saver… It saved me.”
