THE Kaleidoscope Plus Group is delighted to announce it has been awarded vital funding to help develop and promote mental health and wellbeing across Dudley
We have received £1,500 through the Dudley Small Grant Fund which is part of the Public Mental Health Programme Action Plan for Dudley.
The grant will enable us to provide Mental Health First Aid Lite training for individuals, families, communities, and organisations across the borough.
The MHFA Lite course is an introductory mental health awareness course and enables participants to gain a wider understanding, for themselves and others, of some issues surrounding mental health along with a greater understanding of how and why positive and negative mental health affects business.
The course will also highlight how businesses and individuals can work more effectively with people experiencing mental health problems.
The Kaleidoscope Plus Group, Business Development Manager, Louise Bloomfield said: “We are thrilled to have been awarded a grant to provide MHFA Lite in Dudley.
“The course is an excellent way to promote positive mental health and wellbeing to ensure people are well informed to look after their mental health and that of others.
“The course directly tackles stigma and discrimination, examines myths about mental ill-health, and explores the effects that this might have on someone experiencing an issue, and their reluctance to get help.
“The course will help the people of Dudley to develop a shared positive language around mental health, and will provide participants with the knowledge and skills to support people in distress in the workplace and personally”.
The Kaleidoscope Plus Group will be providing MHFA Lite courses in community venues across the borough of Dudley.
Funded places are open to members of the public, as well as professionals in the borough who are working with people and would like an awareness of mental health to support them in their role, as well as personally.
