A night of glitz and glamour will be in store at Edgbaston’s Stadium this autumn to raise funds for a mental health charity.
The Kaleidoscope Plus Group will host its annual charity ball at the ground on October 15. It will be the first in-person event the charity has held since the Covid-19 pandemic began.
The night will be compered by one of the charity’s ambassadors, actor Will Mellor best known for playing Gaz Wilkinson in Two Pints of Lager and a Packet of Crisps and entertainment will be provided by The Jersey Boys Tribute Act followed by a disco late into the evening.
Gary Wheway, Head of Business Development and Fundraising said: “Like all social events across the globe in the past two years, our annual gala ball had to be put on hold over the past two years, but now, more than ever, we need events like this one to help us raise funds to continue delivering our services.
“Not only does the ball promise to be a night of celebration and entertainment, but it will also be one where you can play your part in creating a brighter future for those who need our services. All funds raised will help us to fund our vital frontline services and tackle mental health stigma, encouraging more people to reach out and get the support they need and deserve.”
Upon arrival, guests will walk down the red carpet before heading inside for canapés and a drinks reception where they can have their photograph taken with a professional photographer followed by a three-course meal and live auction.
During the evening there will be an awards ceremony recognising local businesses and individuals who have made exceptional contributions to support the mental health and wellbeing of people in their communities.
Nominations can be a simple act of kindness that has lifted people’s spirits, a business that has improved staff wellbeing, or a direct campaign that has tackled a mental health-issue in the workplace.
