This December, we’re thrilled to be taking part in The Big Give Christmas Challenge, a week-long match funding event when all donations given to Kaleidoscope Plus Group’s Building Resilient Young Minds campaign will be matched pound for pound by The Big Give, meaning double the donations and double the impact.
The focus of this year’s campaign is to address the pressing mental health needs of children and teenagers. Research states that 1 in 6 children aged 6-16 are likely to have a mental health problem and that 50% of all mental health problems start by the age of 14. The decline in our children’s mental health is devastating lives and we are determined to act now, before these challenges reach a crisis point.
Donations received between 3 – 10 December will directly support young people. We’ll work with leaders of local youth groups, clubs, carers and schools to help recognise those all-important early warning signs of mental distress and build safe, supportive networks. Our specialised training will equip leaders with the knowledge, understanding and confidence to provide the right support at the right time. Simultaneously we’ll work closely with young people to help develop their resilience and teach them life-long skills to nurture their own wellbeing. Building Resilient Young Minds, aims to turn the tide on our children’s mental health – help us to help them.
The Big Give Christmas Challenge is a fantastic opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives and futures of local young people. The countdown has begun!
From 3 – 10 December, your donation will be doubled so please save the date and support us this Christmas.
