Launching our text line service is a pivotal moment for the charity

Today, on World Mental Health Day 2019 we have launched our brand new Suicide Prevention Text Line Service.

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group are proud to reveal the launch of our brand new Suicide Prevention Text Line Service in partnership with Shout and Crisis Text Line. Our text line service is available 24/7 anytime you feel you need to reach out for help in a crisis. The text number is free and confidential so won’t show up on your phone bill.

For support you can text “TeamKPG” to 85258 and a trained crisis volunteer will talk to you via text messages, offering you support, advice and help at your pace.

Here’s what #TeamKPG Chief Executive, Monica Shafaq has to say about the launch of the text line:

Launching our text line service is a pivotal moment for the charity as we continue to provide a variety of ways for people to reach out. Being able to offer a confidential service, 24/7 to anyone of any age in the UK and to be able to keep them safe has been a personal aspiration of mine so to be finally doing this feels incredible.  12 people die by suicide every day in the UK and I am confident that this service will help reduce those figures providing hope at a time when people need it most.  Being able to talk to someone is very important when you’re in a dark place, however speaking to someone face to face can also be one of the biggest barriers our mind presents. The text line service removes this barrier but still allows a form of communication making it easier for people to seek support. We wouldn’t have been able to do this without the tireless efforts of our staff and the many fundraisers, in a particular the Nick Mowl Cup who have all worked really hard to raise funds and make this a reality and I’d like to thank you all from the bottom of my heart.

#TeamKPG want you to know, you’re not alone!
