Community Comes Together During Mental Health Awareness Week

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group is celebrating the success of Mental Health Awareness Week 2026 after a week of inspiring community events raised awareness of mental health and vital funds to support its wellbeing services.

Held between 11 and 17 May, the week brought together supporters, staff, partners, and local communities in a shared effort to promote positive mental health and wellbeing.

Fiver to Thrive

A highlight of the week was the brand new initiative Fiver to Thrive Challenge which encouraged participants to turn £5 into as much money as possible through creative fundraising activities. Supporters embraced the challenge with enthusiasm and over £650 was made!

Fundraising Efforts

Alongside fundraising efforts, Kaleidoscope Plus Group delivered a week-long programme of yoga sessions, helping individuals take time to move, breathe and reconnect with their wellbeing. Sessions were held daily and included visits to Sandwell College and SIPS offices, extending the reach of Mental Health Awareness Week into the wider community.

The organisation also partnered with Kore Leisure Centres to host information and engagement stalls at Tipton Leisure Centre, Sandwell Aquatics Centre, and Portway Lifestyle Complex. These events provided opportunities to speak with local residents about mental health, wellbeing and the support available within the community. We were grateful to those attending the Tipton Learn to Swim courses for their contributions towards the challenge.

Eve Vines, Fundraiser for Kaleidoscope Plus Group said:

“Mental Health Awareness Week gave us a fantastic opportunity to bring people together, raise awareness and encourage open conversations about mental wellbeing. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who took part, donated, volunteered, attended events or supported our activities throughout the week. The money raised will help us continue to deliver support and services that make a positive difference to people’s lives.”

Kaleidoscope Plus Group would like to thank every individual, organisation and community partner who contributed to the week’s success.
