Creating Brighter Futures Community Arts Project

#TeamKPG are launching and leading on a brand new community competition called ‘Creating Brighter Futures Together.’

In partnership with Network Rail, British Transport Police, West Midlands Rail and Sandwell Council, we want to do something to make a difference and do something to boost the wellbeing of those using Dudley Port Train Station, or actively promote where support is. To get to the platforms, there are 24 steps which is where the competition comes into play.

We would love members from all communities, to design their very own step to make somebody feel happy/uplifted and to boost their wellbeing, whether this is positive affirmations, bright coloured words or messages of hope.

At times, it’s a common fact that train stations can be a place where people may go when then are in emotional distress and don’t know what to do, so this project will also aim to reach out to people, and how they can reach out for a range of different supports. At the top of the steps there will be a ‘signposting’ poster with all the local/national and relevant contacts.

The Project was launched on World Mental Health Day, and will run until 9th November. After this date, a panel from the partners will meet and choose 24 steps, to be printed and showcased at Dudley Port Station. Competition winners will be named on the step if they want.
