We are looking for Volunteers to help KPG raise awareness of suicide prevention either by attending events or by delivering group talks.
Requirements: You will need to be age 18+, flexible, have empathy and hold effective compassionate communication skills. You will be organised, methodical and reliable. You will encourage conversation and be able to work on your own initiative as well as part of a group. You will have an awareness and understanding of cultural differences in dealing with death and grief. You will have good interpersonal skills to lead a group, encourage and sustain discussions.
Responsibilities: You will be responsible to the suicide and self-harm prevention co ordinator and volunteer. As a champion you will be responsible for helping at events such as PRIDE, mental health stalls and promote awareness days across our service area including the Black country. You will spread the message by finding ways of advertising and promoting our services. You will be signposting, overseeing and maintaining links to relevant organisations, groups and services for counselling. You will also be willing to undertake any training to develop your skills.
