We are looking for a great listener who is passionate about LGBTQ+, mental wellbeing and supporting others to join an enthusiastic and supportive team at KPG. The aim of the group is to provide a safe and non-judgemental facilitated environment where people can meet on a regular basis to talk and share their personal stories over a coffee or take part in art & activities.
Requirements: You will be 18+, possess strong interpersonal skills and can engage in active listening. You will be empathic and compassionate, emotionally supportive and understand the need for boundaries of confidentiality. You will demonstrate an understanding of mental health and factors that can affect wellbeing.
Responsibilities: You will be talking to and getting to know people whilst making them feel welcome and safe by enabling participation within a group setting. You may share your own experiences to do a creative activity which encourages people to get involved in group activities, lead discussions and signpost people to other sources of support. This can be anything from playing bingo, art, craft sessions or being a listening ear within a LGBTQ+ group. You will support referrals and group dynamics of the informal sessions. You will support the promotion of the service and provide feedback to the team lead. You will contribute to the review and evaluation of clients on an ongoing basis as necessary whilst ensuring confidentiality processes are adhered to. You will attend team meetings and training relevant to the role.
