Faye Brecknock – Training Services Manager
Faye has a wealth of experience in Mental Health Education and HR Learning and Development. Faye holds an MA in Dramatherapy, Award in Education, Level 5 Coaching and Mentoring and is an Approved Mental Health First Aid Instructor. This has enabled her to work with organisations upskilling managers, support staff and service users to become ‘mental health aware’ and challenge stigma around mental ill health.
Faye said: “Mental health and physical health are equal, and it is my personal and professional goal to end disparity between the two. Creating awareness is a good first step, however I want to empower people to feel confident to start the conversation around mental health and support each other.”
Lisa Hartland – Psycho-Education Trainer
Lisa has worked in Education since 2000. She holds a teaching ‘Certificate in Further Education’, TDLB Assessors Award, an NVQ Level 3 Diploma in Customer Service and is an Approved Mental Health First Aid Instructor. In addition to working as a Personal Tutor and Lecturer in Further Education Colleges, she has also been a Trainer in Mentoring within the Criminal Justice system. This has given her a wide range of knowledge and experience in meeting and working with a diverse range of people; providing support, mentoring, and helping people to achieve their own personal goals.
Lisa said: “Every one of us is individual and unique in our own way. My vision is to help people focus on their positive aspects so I can provide guidance to help them develop.”
Melanie Griffin-Suicide and Self-Harm Prevention Coordinator
Having been bereaved personally by suicide, Melanie has spent the last 10 years working to support those thinking of and those bereaved by suicide.
As well as supporting individuals, Melanie also works with a number of partners across the UK to improve both National and Regional suicide strategies. She is one of around 7,000 worldwide ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training by LivingWorks) trainers.
Melanie is currently working with other organisations and charities, to help improve their suicide safety plans and build staff confidence around suicide.
