Charity Partners, Allflex are leading on this challenge to walk the entire length of Hadrian’s wall – from Bowness-on-Solway to Wallsend (Segedunum)
The aim is to generate awareness of the great work undertaken by the Kaleidoscope Plus Group.
Kaleidoscope Plus have recognised the higher rates of suicide amongst agricultural and rural workers, citing loneliness, isolation and lack of opportunity for communication as contributory factors. The focus of the Agricultural/Rural support Kaleidoscope Plus offer is training people within the rural community in ‘Mental Health First Aid’ making them able to provide support in suicide prevention and suicide bereavement support for those left behind.
We are looking for volunteers to take part in this 3-day walking challenge;
Day One: Friday 12th July – Start 9am @ Bowness-on-Solway. (30 miles. 10 Hours walking)
Day Two: Saturday 13th July (25 miles. 8 hours walking)
During Saturday we will be covering the more photogenic parts of the wall – and therefore we have allowed time for photography/videoing
The plan is to visit some farms on route.
Day Three: Sunday 14th July (29 miles. 10 hours walking) Ending the walk at Segedunum
(The above plan has been designed for people who can walk two miles per hour.)
Costs for weekend accommodation is estimated to be £60 per person, however this is subject to
change until final numbers are confirmed. A deposit of £30 will be required by Friday 25th May 2019
to secure your place.
All walkers raising funds on the Kaleidoscope Plus Group’s behalf will be sent a fundraising pack
