Service Users at The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary

A couple of weeks ago, our service users from the Community Wellbeing Service visited The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary.

The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary was founded in 1969 by Dr Elisabeth Svendsen, MBE who dedicated her life to champion donkeys, and it is through her devotion that the Sanctuary has grown to be as popular as it is today.

The visit was facilitated by Community Wellbeing Worker, Heidi Dowd who to her surprise enjoyed the day out The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary just as much as the service users.

She said: “It was a fantastic day out where the service users and I were able to meet all the different donkeys at The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary.

“The trip was also very educational and relaxing too, with the staff at The Birmingham Donkey Sanctuary teaching us many amazing and interesting facts about donkeys whilst making us feel at ease around the sanctuary.”
