More than 80 golfers took to the fairways to ensure the region’s largest building society, the West Brom raised more than £5,500 for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

The West Brom staged its annual sporting fundraiser at The Staffordshire Golf Club, near Wombourne, in aid of its nominated charity of the year, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

Business partners, suppliers and staff joined forces for the golf day to form 20 teams who did battle in a stableford competition, which was won by insurance broker, AJ Gallagher.

There were nearest the pin and longest drive challenges sponsored by audio visual systems specialist proAV and insurance providers Hood Group and AmTrust International. A raffle was also held to raise additional funds for the charity.

The West Brom’s David Taylor, who helped to organise the event, said: “Our golf day is always very popular and the number of entrants is growing every year.

“All the players enjoyed themselves and to raise £5,500 for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group was a great effort from everyone who took part.

“This was one of our first major fundraising events for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group since partnering with them and we couldn’t have asked for a better response.”

Our Chief Executive, Monica Shafaq added: “The golf day represents a terrific start to our partnership with the West Brom.

“Not only did it raise a fantastic amount of money, we were also able to raise awareness of the charity and the vital support service we provide to those in need.”
