We have named the Chair of the Professional Football Association Ben Purkiss, as our new Chair following our Annual General Meeting held in December.

Ben Purkiss is currently playing professional football for Swindon Town FC in League Two and was elected as the Professional Footballers Association Chair in November. He has been a member of our board since 2014 and Chair in waiting since the summer of 2017.

Ben was delighted to have been named Chair at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and said: “It’s a huge honour to have been elected as Chair at such a fantastic charity”

“I hope during my time I’m able to make difference and help the fight against the stigma which is still unfortunately attached to mental health, something that is gaining more focus in football too.”

Our Chief Executive, Monica Shafaq was delighted at his appointment.

She said: “Ben has been a member of our board since 2014 and has helped guide us through some challenging times.

“He knows the charity well and I’m confident that with his support and expertise, the charity will continue to prosper”

She added: “I’m feeling very optimistic and looking forward to the next few years as I know with Ben leading our board, it only means successful times ahead for the organisation.”
