We have saddled up with Walsall FC in a bid to raise awareness of World Mental Health Day on Wednesday October 10.

To kick-off promotional events ahead of the big day The Saddlers’ players will be wearing specially designed promotional t-shirts while
warming up for their clash with Carlisle at the Banks’s Stadium.

Meanwhile, in and around the ground ahead of the npower LeagueOne fixture The Kaleidoscope Plus Group volunteers will be handing out balloons and leaflets as well as offering useful advice in regards to promoting positive mental health.

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group Chief Executive, Monica Shafaq, said: “World Mental Health Day is the most significant day in the calendar for us and other mental health organisations so it is an unbelievable gesture by Walsall FC to offer their help and support in raising awareness of it.

“We are all really looking forward to meeting up with the fans before the game and hopefully together we can raise awareness, while also showing a red card to the stigma attached to mental health.

“We are keen to promote positive mental health across Sandwell, Walsall and Wolverhampton and thanks to Walsall FC we will be able to do this on Saturday.”

“We are happy to play our part in promoting World Mental Health Day,” added Walsall FC Club Secretary Daniel Mole.

“Walsall FC pride ourselves on being a positive role model in our local community and, hopefully, by supporting this worthwhile cause we can help remove the stigma attached to mental illness whilst publicising the superb work undertaken by organisations such as The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.”
