In the early hours of this morning, Cyrille Regis, MBE sadly passed away at the age of 59.

Cyrille Regis had an illustrious 19 year career football, playing for many football clubs across the Midlands including West Bromwich Albion, Coventry City and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

He also won 5 caps for England and was appointed an MBE in 2008.

Following the tragic news, our Chief Executive issued the following statement:

“The Kaleidoscope Plus Group offers its deepest sympathy and condolences to the family, friends and associates of Cyrille Regis following his tragic and shocking death.

“He was an inspiration and hero to so many people both on and off the field and true role model for all.

“Cyrille Regis played a pivotal role in football during a time when there weren’t many black footballers in the game.

“He was a talent and pioneer as a well as a true gentleman who supported the charity.

“Rest in peace Cyrille”
