In the first week of July, we were nominated for Charity of the Year 2017 as part of the West Midlands Awards.
The awards ceremony was held at The Copthorne Hotel, Merry Hill.
Other nominees included Edward’s Trust, Midlands Air Ambulance Charity, Cerebral Palsy Midlands, FareShare, Acorns Children’s Hospice, KIDS, Newlife the Charity for Disabled Children, Groundwork and Aquarius.
Our Chief Executive, Monica Shafaq attended the awards and was happy to have been given recognition for the regional work the charity has done over the last 12 months.
She said: “To be recognised for the work we do locally across the Midlands by an awards body such as the West Midlands Awards is a great honour for the charity.
“It’s truly humbling as a charity to be mentioned in the same breath as organisations of likes of Midlands Air Ambulance, Acorn’s Children’s Hospice and Aquarius.”
