In July, we welcomed Sandwell Academy year 10 student, Georgia Callagan for work experience.
Georgia worked with the PR and Communications department of the charity and worked on many different projects including maintenance of the online database, creating new social media content for Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn as well as helping produce press releases.
Georgia felt she learnt a lot from her work experience even though she was apprehensive about her placement.
She said: “On my first day I was very nervous because I didn’t know what to expect and was fearful of having to work independently.
“However, once I had met everybody and was given my targets for the week I no longer felt anxious as I knew if I worked hard enough I would be able complete all the tasks I was set.
“My work experience has definitely given me confidence moving forward and will always be something I will cherish and look back at as a great learning curve in regards to my career.”
Anil Patel from PR and Communications managed Georgia for her work experience and thinks Sandwell Academy should be very proud of her.
He said: “Georgia proved during her work experience placement that she could easily adapt to any environment outside of education which bodes well for her future.
“Her work rate whilst carrying out her duties was phenomenal which will only make her a great asset to any organisation she chooses to work when she finishes her studies.
“She has shined during her week at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group and is a credit to her school.”
The Kaleidoscope Plus Group would like to wish Georgia Callagan all the best in her academic future and professional career.
