Hadrian’s Wall Walk raises £5200 for Suicide Prevention Services

On Friday 14th July 2019 a group from #TeamKPG and Partners, Allflex UK challenged themselves to a gruelling 3 day challenge to walk 84 Miles coast to coast on the Hadrian’s Wall path. Each mile walked represented a male life lost in the UK each week to suicide.

Over the course of the weekend the team battled the elements, hilly landscapes and injuries all in honour of suicide prevention and suicide awareness. For the team it was one of the hardest challenges they have faced both mentally and physically but were unanimous that their efforts were all worthwhile as all the money raised will provide much more provision in the rural and agriculture communities.

Their hard work and efforts were well rewarded with well over £4000 raised so far, all going to the funding for suicide prevention services in Yorkshire, not only that but an incredible amount of awareness and support surrounding such a sensitive but important subject was raised with phenomenal engagement across social media platforms.

The money raised could provide one of the following:

  • 20 Mental Health First Aiders
  • 50 2 hour Suicide Bereavement support groups
  • 300 half an hour one to one safe plan sessions with someone who is suicidal

A message from the team:

“From the organisers, to the walkers, the donations, the supporters and to the people who have shared their stories, you are an inspiration and we are so very grateful for all of the love and support”
