The theme this year for Mental Health Awareness Week was “Body Image”– how we think and feel about our bodies, you may have seen a few #Unfiltered posts across The Kaleidoscope Plus Group’s Social Media channels throughout MHAW19.
Creator, Amy Drake from #TeamKPG explains what is was all about below!
I created #unfiltered because I think it’s really important that we embrace who we are rather than who we think we need to be online. Social media is a fantastic tool, but it can also lead us to compare our lives or ourselves to others, which can have a detrimental impact on our mental health. It’s easy to forget that what we see on social media isn’t always the reality, and we can be left feeling as though we don’t measure up.
This campaign is all about being YOU, the good, the bad and the in-between, and identifying ways that we can keep ourselves mentally well when using social media. It’s okay not to be perfect. It’s okay to be #unfiltered.
