Jai Sharma In July, The Kaleidoscope Plus Group introduced Jai Sharma from Sandwell Academy into the world of work for his Year 12 work experience.

Jai has a keen interest in marketing and communications which led him to be placed in the PR & Communications Department where he worked on completing a range of tasks that would allow for him to gain an insight into the principles of marketing and communications.

These tasks included updating the charity mailing list, implementing a new database system which recorded training statistics as well as creating new and innovative social media features for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

On his first day at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group Jai was unsure what to expect; he was excited, yet nervous when entering the world of work.

He said: “I was excited but slightly scared to experience what The Kaleidoscope Plus Group had to offer.

“However I soon realised the staff were very friendly and made me feel comfortable by giving me a warm welcome.
“I found all the work I was given interesting and I believe I completed all work set to a consistently high standard while still being able to feel relaxed.”

Jai added, “I would recommend anyone looking to gain work experience to do it at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

“I found my time at The Kaleidoscope Plus Group to be rewarding and it gave me a great sense of achievement.

“More importantly, my work experience allowed me to be part of the great work that The Kaleidoscope Plus Group does, helping thousands of people across the Midlands who suffer with mental ill health.”

While working in the PR and Communications department, Jai was supervised by Marketing and Communications Assistant, Anil Patel.

Anil was very impressed with the quality of the work produced by Jai and spoke highly of him.

He said: “Jai was an amazing and hard working part of the team who always put 100% commitment and effort into all the work he did.

“Jai was well spoken and polite making him a perfect fit for The Kaleidoscope Plus Group.

“Jai proved to be a great asset and I would be more than happy to welcome him back in the future in any capacity as I know he will be successful in whatever he decides to pursue.”

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group would like to wish Jai all the best in his academic future and professional career.
