Handy Person / Gardener Volunteer

We are looking for a volunteer gardener / handy person to carry out a variety of tasks which include fixing, maintaining and keeping the building to a good standard.

Requirements: You will be aged 18+ and preferably have experience of using basic tools and electric / hand powered tools whilst adhering to health and safety policies. You will also ideally have experience of performing routine maintenance and/ or gardening tasks. You will need a good attention to detail and the ability to work alone safely

Responsibilities: You will be required to carry out a variety of maintenance tasks and identify any potential issues. This role will involve manual handling and the assembling and moving of furniture if required. General improvements including painting /decorating are included whilst ensuring the high standards of maintenance are met in accordance with health and safety policies. You will also maintain the Nicholl Grange Garden on a regular basis.

Responsibilities: You will be talking to and getting to know people whilst making them feel welcome and safe. You may share your own experiences of being part of the LGBTQ+ group and you will encourage people to get involved in group activities, lead discussions and signpost people to other sources of support. You will support referrals and group dynamics of the creative arts project. You will support the promotion of the service and provide weekly feedback to the team lead. You will contribute to the review and evaluation of clients on an ongoing basis as necessary whilst ensuring confidentiality processes are adhered to. You will attend team meetings and training relevant to the role.
