Midlands mental health charity sponsor Warwickshire based football team

The West Bromwich-based charity, the Kaleidoscope Plus Group helps thousands of people across the UK each year and offers a range of services for people in need, struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing.

Kaleidoscope Plus Group are delighted to confirm that they are now the official sponsors of Nuneaton based football team Hearty Goodfellow FC for the 2023/24 season.

The team ply their trade in the Nuneaton and District Sunday Football League fourth division and have recently clinched the league title in their first season together.

The team was conceived after a quiet drink between friends and has quickly escalated into two teams being developed: a first team and a reserve team.

On the recent sponsorship Monica Shafaq, CEO at the Kaleidoscope Plus Group said: “It is great to work with football teams, and especially those at this level that are focussed on community engagement. Football is one of those sports that brings people together, which works wonders when it comes to raising awareness about mental health.

“For a long time now mental health and physical health have been treated as two separate entities but, at KPG we are committed to making them part of the same conversation.

“We are working hard to remove the stigma that surrounds reaching out for support with your mental health. If you are struggling with your own emotional health and wellbeing then please know you are not alone, support is available.

“Our ethos has always been to help people on the road to feel good again, whether that be through the support they receive or the experience they have when fundraising or volunteering for us, so it is really important to us at KPG that we have partnerships like this.”

The team have managed to finish the Division 4 season unbeaten and as league champions.

On the recent sponsorship player and reserve team coach for next year Adam Crane said: “We are so thankful of the kit sponsorship from the Kaleidoscope Plus Group. It is a privilege that from next season our reserve team will proudly be wearing this kit and raising awareness about the brilliant work done by the charity to support those struggling with their emotional health and wellbeing.”

Adam who works as National Contract Manager at GMS Security Services Ltd, who are corporate sponsors of the midlands-based charity added: “The team started as a way of a few friends playing regularly together. It soon evolved into a club with wholesome ideology, a warm supportive atmosphere, and a great way to spend a Sunday.”

Hearty Goodfellow FC Club Manager Chris Daffern also said: I would like to thank the Kaleidoscope Plus Group for their sponsorship and we hope the club and the charity can continue to work together in the future to help raise awareness of the incredible support they offer.”

Each year it costs in excess of £2 million to keep KPG support services operational. The charity relies on the support and generosity of local people and businesses to keep services running. If you would like to support the work done by KPG visit www.kaleidoscopeplus.org.uk.
