Buddy Up For Mental Health Awareness Week

A leading mental health charity is encouraging its supporters to get their walking boots on and cover as many miles as possible this Spring.

The Kaleidoscope Plus Group has launched its Buddy Walk as part of Mental Health Awareness Week and National Walking Month.

Mental Health Awareness Week runs from May 9-15th and this year’s theme is around ‘loneliness.’ With May also being National Walking Month, the West Bromwich-based charity is challenging people to cover as many miles as possible by walking with a friend or loved one and raising funds along the way.

Gary Wheway, Head of Business Development and Fundraising said: “National Walking Month is a great excuse to leave your car at home, get outside and get fit and it’s great that Mental Health Awareness Week happens alongside it.

“Our connection to other people and our community is fundamental to protecting our mental health, so this May we want encourage as many people as possible to be part of something special  and take part in Buddy Walk 2022.

“By taking part and raising money for KPG, you’ll be helping to ensure that our mental health services are available to those who need them most, both now and in the future.”
